ZTE Launches Gaggle Of New Phones

ZTE Launches Gaggle Of New Phones ZTE has joined the race to create new phones that run on the Google Android platform. The company has revealed the introduction of a number of new handsets with jazzy titles. These include the ZTE Blade, ZTE Racer, ZTE Mercury, ZTE Smile, ZTE Cute and ZTE Valentina.

Although little information is forthcoming about the new launches, the ZTE Blade is said to include a number of standard features. These comprise the fact that it operates via the Android 1.6 platform and that it sports a 3.5-inch screen. The screen itself has WVGA resolution. Also included is GPS, Wi-Fi and a compass just in case the user gets lost. For entertainment fanatics, there is an integrated FM radio.

The ZTE Racer also runs on the Android 1.6 platform but only offers a 2.8-inch screen, which again has WVGA resolution. This new handset boasts both light and proximity sensors. 3G, GPS and Wi-Fi are all incorporated.

The other phones seem to resemble existing handsets in some ways. The ZTE Smile bears a similarity to the Helio Ocean handset according to the Mobile Review website, and the ZTE Cute strongly resembles the Nokia N97. Specification details for the ZTE Mercury have not been released as yet, except that it has a likeness to the HTC Hero, although reports say that the ZTE EQ2 sports transparent touch sensitive keys.

The Chinese manufacturer has taken its cue for mobile designs from leading brands before, developing its own Palm Pre lookalike last month under the title of ZTE Smooth.
