Windows Phone Gets Jil Sander Makeover

Windows Phone Gets Jil Sander Makeover While the new iPhone may be stealing most of the limelight this week, fashion designer Jil Sander has released an interesting new contender into the market.

Although not quite up to the specs of the new iPhone 4S, the Jil Sander phone, with gadgetry supplied by LG, is slightly less style-over-substance as previous fashion house phones such as The Prada Phone, also by LG. The Jil Sander handset features the Windows Phone 7.5 OS and a decent-sized 3.8 inch, 800 x 480 screen, but more importantly for its intended audience, carries a few trademark design cues by the celebrated designer.

Renowned for her minimal fashion designs using a limited palette of colours, Jil Sander appears to have applied her trademark style to this phone, adding only an electric blue stripe to the side of the sleek case and matching blue accessories, such as the carry-pouch and headphones. The gift-box the phone comes in is also coordinated in the black and blue colour scheme, and the whole package certainly looks the part, darling. Under the hood, the phone carries a respectable 1GHz processor to keep fashionistas up to speed with the latest trends and the 5MP camera unit is capable of recording 720p video – essential for those once-in-a-lifetime runway moments.

The phone also comes loaded with a Jil Sander app allowing fashion fans to browse the designer's collections and search for her nearest shops, if they’re feeling flush. The phone will be available from 7 October in the UK, as well as in Germany, France, Austria and Italy.

Terrible design

This is possibly one of the worst phones I have seen lately. Why is the name Jil Sander on the top of the phone?

Sometimes the key to selling a product is just styling. Especially if consumers are going to be carrying a device on them 24/7 they want something sleek, slim, and stylish that is fully functional. I believe that one of the major factors as to why many prefer the iPhone over other phones is not only the software and ease to use but its stylish, simple, unique design.
