Vodafone Revamps Own Mobile Brand Range
Vodafone is expected to announce the launch of a new range of own brand phones to be distributed throughout Europe.
Although sold under the Vodafone name, they will be manufactured by a choice of third party manufacturers.
Qisda has emerged as the most attractive so far. The phone is a large-screened model, sporting a 1280 x 1024 pixel display.
With a four inch span, the Qisda QCM-330 has fast data transfer via HSDPA and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity. It also boasts a respectable 3-megapixel camera and an accelerometer.
According to reports on the Mobile Choice website, the rumours are that it will also use the Android operating system. The Qisda QCM-330 was one of the winners in an iF mobile design contest. This is expected to be added to the low end Vodafone 360 own brand range as a serious contender.
A second option is the Vodafone 2010 Compass. Designed by German manufacturer, y studio nr21, this model has a full QWERTY keyboard, with a music player for entertainment and an as yet unspecified camera.
The Vodafone 360 Krystal is another option and this phone sports two displays, on the back and on the front. One of the screens has the ability to scan and translate documents, whilst the other displays the translated text.
According to reports, Vodafone is also launching phones in the own brand range called the Compass, the Krystal, the Quincy, the Sting, the Larry and the Shilpa.
