Mobile phone users will be able to test drive handsets from the comfort of their own home, thanks to a new internet service which has been launched today.

Mobile Complete, a mobile application testing company, is providing the brains behind the initiative, which has been christened TryPhone.

A click of the mouse will let prospective mobile buyers play with the functions of more than 1,000 different mobile models, all connected to live networks and all for free.

Mobile Complete CEO Faraz Syed thinks that TryPhone won't just let mobile shoppers jump the retail queue, but avoid it all together.

"Purchasing a cell phone has been an unpleasant process for consumers who are faced with pushy salespeople and little opportunity to test devices," he said.

Mr Syed believes that "consumers can now take complete control of the purchasing process, without ever having to step foot in a store".

Mobile application websites have previously been widely-used by developers looking to add applications to mobile devices.

Tryphone is okay, but check out GSMLive.ro phone simulators here: http://www.gsmlive.ro/telefoane/Apple/iPhone/simulator You can see far more of the actual phone (there are also Nokias, SonyEricssons, LGs etc), you can scroll it like the real iPhone, you can search its content!
