The Weirdest Steve Jobs Tributes
The recent tragic death of Apple founder Steve Jobs provoked a huge number of heartfelt and sincere tributes from a vast array of senior figures in the political, corporate, creative and technological sectors. However, thanks to Jobs’ God-like standing among the stranger denizens of the online universe, a fair number of frankly bizarre tributes also started popping up, along with a shower of shoddy memorabilia. Let’s have a look at some of the best/worst examples.
My Little Pony

That’s right, our favourite cutesy pony characters also needed a share of the grieving process. Although I do like the way Steve looks quietly terrified in the middle of this sparkly huddle.
Figurine

Sadly a one-day-only offer, this handmade figurine is said to look amazingly real. Aside from the huge head and diminutive size, obviously.
T-shirt

Steves everywhere will benefit from this one. Although Mr Jobs was himself a fan of minimalist design, this may be stripping things back a little too far.
Carbonite

This one’s actually pretty cool to be fair. Hints at immortality and available as an iPhone case cover.
Paper doll
Via: Etsy.com
“Steve will come fully assembled and ready for display or play.” It’s what he would have wanted I’m sure.
The Magician
Via: Etsy.com
A surefire way of creeping out everyone around you at Starbucks, this MacBook decal promises not to leave any residue when removed. Which will please everyone who buys one after a few days of having to look at it.
Hideous case
Via: Ebay.com
What better tribute to one of the great gurus of beautiful industrial design than to slather his gorgeous iPhone in a case which appears to have been designed by a colour-blind accountant on MS Paint? “Think Different” indeed.
Pumpkin?
Via: Ebay.com
Halloween’s coming up, and this ghoulish creation by Stanford University art students is described as being “hand-carved” and, thankfully, “rare”. English Lit students were clearly not involved in the creation of the Ebay copy, which states the pumpkin design is for the “memorization of this man who brought evolutions and ideas into our lives.” Moving stuff.
