T-Mobile International Pass Allows Calls to 50 Countries

T-Mobile International Pass Allows Calls to 50 Countries A recent Softpedia.com article indicated the introduction of a new International Pass for the prepay customers of T-Mobile UK.

The International Pass will allow customers to remain in touch with their contacts around the world for as little as 5p per minute.

The International Pass offers lower rate mobile calls which apply to more than 50 countries worldwide, such as Australia, France, Germany, China, and the United States. T-Mobile said that call rates would be reduced by up to 75 per cent for calls to mobile phones, 50 per cent for calls to landlines, and 25 per cent for text messages.

The International Pass will be available for all the new and existing customers of the wireless carrier. All customers will therefore benefit from similar rates as those who pay for international options. Furthermore, existing customers already using the Pass will automatically be transferred to the lower rates.

T-Mobile’s prepay marketing manager, Jonathan Senior, said: “The new International Pass lets our customers enjoy lower priced calls and texts to friends and family abroad, on top of their great value local calls. Best of all, there are no confusing rules or entry requirements like some of our competitors, all our customers can simply opt in with a free text.”

The International Pass became available on 8 March 2010, with immediate effect for new and existing customers. Other carriers have removed roaming charges altogether from their mobile contracts so that customers pay the same network charge rate regardless of where they are in the world.
