Spotify on iPhone Gets iOS 4 Makeover
Spotify for iOS 4 is now live. Premium members of the Spotify music service can now enjoy the virtual jukebox while texting or sending an email.
A recent post on Spotify’s official blog said: "Easily the most requested feature for our iPhone app since it launched last September has been the ability to listen to music while surfing the web, using Facebook, etc. Up until now this hasn’t been possible but with Apple’s release of iOS 4 you’re able to use multiple apps at the same time, including Spotify."
Among the new features that have also been added is Facebook integration. Friends' Spotify playlists will now show up in users' social feeds. Spotify addicts can also recommend and share songs with friends on Facebook through the app itself, without having to use a home computer.
A 'What's New' tab also finds itself on the revitalised application. The latest albums and tracks that have been added will appear on screen to ensure that music fans stay on top of the music scene. The most popular songs in the user's home country will also show up on the display.
It will now also be possible to skip and pause tracks using headphones or a remote, with the application seen as the default music program. The software is also less of a drain on battery power than previous versions.
Cnet.co.uk gave the new app a glowing review, stating: "Things are looking very rosy indeed."
You can grab it for free on the App Store now, but a Premium Spotify membership is needed.
