O2 Announces First Partners For Centre Of Excellence
O2 UK is aiming to evolve into a communications integrator of choice instead of merely remaining a communications products supplier. In order to achieve this mission, it announced an Applications Centre of Excellence (CoE) scheme at the end of 2008.
Via this scheme, O2 will partner with other service providers to integrate and expand the range of choices the company offers its customers. O2 has recently revealed the first three official members of the CoE, which include Asavie, Neverfail and Telmap.
The companies will collaborate exclusively with a specialist team from O2 in order to develop and market a range of mobile applications. Specifically, the collaboration will include the development of secure mobile access solution by Asavie, AccessMyLan, Neverfail’s business continuity solutions, and from Telmap a satellite navigation solution, Telmap Navigator.
According to O2, the CoE is part of its UK business strategy, which aims towards a more IT-focused approach to cooperate and SME sales. This approach includes a range of business enabling applications such as CRM, rather than single offerings such as mobile email.
The new collaboration is a business trend that continues from O2's 2008 launch of CoE's such as its Enterprise, M2M and Data Centres of Excellence, all designed to offer customers integrated end-to-end services.
Ben Dowd, the Business Sales Director of Telefonica O2 UK, said: “We believe that constant collaboration will help us all move forward in a challenging market. Asavie, Neverfail and Telmap have … a shared belief in going the extra mile for our customers.”
