Nokia Launches C5 Handset

Nokia Launches C5 Handset Launching its Cseries of low cost handsets, Nokia introduces the C5. The handset is packed with so many features it could almost rival some of the smartphones on the market, but at a much more affordable price.

The flagship of the new range, and although small in size, is very capable. Effectively, the new C5 sees the company going back to basics, following the high profile launches of the Xseries and N900.

Running on Symbian 60 v3, the C5 boasts a number of features including standard number pad, D-pad and a camera. This comes in at a respectable 3.2 mega-pixels. It also sports a nifty 2.2-inch display.

In line with some of Nokia's smartphones, the C5 comes with Nokia's free sat nav, Ovi Maps and Nokia Messaging. It also accommodates email messaging and IM via the company’s Eseries business centric system.

The C5 is also geared up for the phenomena of social networking: although as yet, only details about a phonebook that can reveal friend’s Facebook activities are forthcoming, users are able to update their own status via the phone. As an added extra, users can add three friends to the homescreen. At the touch of a button, they can be quickly called or messaged.

The new C5 has a 2GB microSD card, and the battery life offers 12 hours of talktime or 26 days on standby. White or warm grey are the only colours that the handset comes in and the new phone is expected to be reasonably priced at around €135 (£122).
