HTC Desire On Sale from End of March

HTC Desire On Sale from End of March There has been official confirmation on the T-Mobile website’s customer forum that the HTC Desire will be available from 29 March.

Customers can order the phone now from T-Moblie's website, but with a seven-day lead time, the quickest route to picking up one of these phones will be to get one directly from a T-Mobile store.

The much awaited confirmation follows an unfortunate technical error that had caused customers to think that the device was out of stock but has since been rectified.

The HTC Desire will at first be made available in Europe and will only come to the US at a later date. This has prompted some interested US customers to consider purchasing the device in the UK and posting it across the Atlantic.

T-Mobile do not have an exclusive deal on the HTC Desire so other networks could offer the phone. So far there has been no official confirmation from the other five major mobile phone providers in the UK as to when they will be selling the HTC Desire, but this is likely to be some time in April.

This should happen a short time before Google releases its smartphone the Nexus One via Vodafone, according to a report from ITProportal.com

There has been considerable praise for the HTC Desire as “one of the best phones of the year” as it surpasses even the excellent smartphone for Nokia due to the few extra tweaks it has received.

However, the fact that it will be made available on an extremely affordable basis, with a wide choice of different rental plans, makes it a killer offering indeed.

Desire delayed

Hi there.

Thought I'd give you a heads up.

I preordered the HTC Desire from T-Mobile and was promised it would be with me Saturday 27th March. I have just received a text from T-Mobile informing me: "That due to a shipping delay T-Mobile will not take delivery on the handset till Wednesday 3st March."

HTC Desire fails 'last minute' tests

I have just got off of the phone to the T-Mobile upgrade department and have been informed that the HTC Desire FAILED a last minute 'quality' check yesterday, 25th March 2010, and HTC will NOT be allowing the release of the Desire to ANY networks until the 2nd April.

Either this is the truth, and HTC have been particularly lax in their quality control, or T-Mobile have plunged to the lowest depths in their handling of existing customers and have as suspected sold all of their first batch of phones to NEW customers only and EXISTING customers can go whistle in the wind.

I think I will stay with Orange

After reading the above and listening to colleagues, the best advice I can give is don't touch T-Mobile with a bargepole.
