Google Sync Steps It Up

Google Sync Steps It Up They have been very busy at the Google offices over recent months. On top of launching a barcode facility and increasing smartphone intelligence, Google has revealed that the newly introduced Sync software utility has moved up a notch. The organisation has announced that Sync has reached Beta stage.

People who have a Nokia mobile phone will benefit from the software, in particular those mobiles that support the current third edition of Symbian S60. Through the facility, two way contact can be established, over the air. The utility also allows the built in calendar to be synchronised via push technology.

So in all, all Google contacts and calendars can be in sync at the same time, allowing users to make changes either via the handset itself or through a desktop connection. The incorporation of push technology means that changes can be accessed and effected in minutes and even if the phone is mislaid or lost, will be stored in the users Google account safely.

Google Sync employs the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync protocol. The company reminds users to back up any data that might be of importance as Google Sync may remove existing contacts and events listed in the calendar. So far, Google Sync is available for the BlackBerry, Nokia S60, Nokia standard, Sony Ericsson and Windows Mobile.

Now that the Sync has reached Beta stage, this is of assistance to Nokia S60 users to even further enhance the potential of the Google facility through the medium of a mobile phone.
