Google Launches Social Buzz on Mobile Phones

Google Launches Social Buzz on Mobile Phones Google has followed in the footsteps of Facebook and Twitter by launching its own social networking application - Google Buzz.

Popular Images and Google Voice are just two of the new applications available from Google for users of mobile phones. Now Google Buzz links two available utilities in order to increase their efficiency.

This new linking application can be accessed either on a desktop computer or on a mobile phone. The app works by allowing the user to integrate the information on user’s Gmail inboxes. This enables the user to then share information such as internet links and media including photos and videos with all contacts in the inbox.

In addition, Google Buzz can recognise a user’s location and give out locations near to the user, as well as offering the facility to read what other people have remarked about those locations.

The value of the app is that there is no need to set it up: it automatically follows most frequently used contacts in Gmail. Any comments made are directly sent to the inbox saving time and enabling conversations to be ongoing.

Moreover, there is no need to update each time a comment or post is received, as the app allows them to pop into the inbox as they happen. Google Maps is also able to integrate the Buzz experience and users can import information from social networking sites such as Twitter, Picasa and Google Reader.

Initially, the Buzz app is only available with Android 2.0 operating systems or those higher. It can also be used with the iPhone although other operating system versions are to arrive in time.
