Good news for iPhone gamers

Good news for iPhone gamers The iPhone could soon be turned into a PSP-like fully-fledged games device thanks to a controller that is now in development.

The iControlPad is a device resembling a case which handily connects to the dock connector on the must-have Apple gadget.

The iPhone just slides and locks into the iControlPad to allow the buttons to work for handheld gaming.

Apparently no further modifications are needed and it can be removed at any time.

Pocket-lint.co.uk quoted the team behind the design as saying: "The iControlPad is already supported by some of the biggest iPhone devs (including ZodTTD - PSX, GBA emu, etc.) and we are sending out units to several others."

In other iPhone-related news, French technology site PC INpact has claimed that it has been contacted by Orange about 3G iPhone upgrade schemes that will be offered to existing iPhone owners and current Orange customers.

The first deal is reported to allow Orange users to have a new 3G iPhone in exchange for their current iPhone and a €50 fee.

Neither Apple nor Orange have confirmed whether there is substance to this report.
