Free EA Mobile Games for Palm Pre Users
According to an article in Softpedia.com, EA Mobile has recently announced a partnership with mobile phone maker Palm. This partnership enables the leading provider of mobile games to offer Palm Pre handset owners in the UK three free games from its catalogue.
The deal comes in anticipation of releasing the full range of App Catalog solutions for the Palm Pre handset. The games are currently available for download for all devices on the O2 network in the UK and Ireland and will be offered for free until the end of March.
Included in the titles are Need for Speed Undercover, The Sims 3, and Monopoly – an electronic version of the popular board game. These take advantage of the Palm Pre’s 3D capabilities, with Monopoly for example enabling users to throw 3D dice.
Users who wish to download one of the three titles on offer can access the App Catolog on the Palm Pre device, search for games, and download them directly. The article states that the best download option is over a Wi-Fi connection, as the games are considerable in size.
This download option is also recommended by Palm itself. Palm will be launching further paid apps in its UK store at the end of March. This comes some time after the release of the apps in the United States.
Palm is making further headway into Europe by the recent announcement of the webOS platform Version 1.4. This version includes new features such as video recording, applications that operate faster than those of its predecessor, and a longer battery life.
For user convenience, the update is set to download automatically via Wi-Fi, 3G, or over the air.
