Browsers Updated with Opera Mini 5 and Mobile 10

Browsers Updated with Opera Mini 5 and Mobile 10 With Opera announcing so many versions of its popular mobile browser entering beta phases, it's nice to see two finally making it to official releases.

Opera Mini 5 and Opera Mobile 10 were both announced today in Oslo, Norway via a company press release. Opera Mini 5 is ready for all Java and BlackBerry handsets to download, whilst Opera Mobile 10 is good to go for Symbian and Windows Mobile handsets.

These latest and most up to date versions have been specifically designed to be ultra competitive in terms of speed and accuracy. In order to make them usable for as many mobile devices as possible, the systems have been updated to keep the market competitive.

According to Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera: “Keeping in mind the needs and wants of our 50+ million users, we have emphasized speed, desktop-like functionality and data savings in our mobile browsers,” he explained. He went on to explain how the new updated versions of the browsers make it “even easier for everyone to surf, search and socialize on the Web.”

The browsers differ from other versions as they incorporate a much faster browsing system. This technology is based on very high compression levels allowing 90 per cent of all data to be compressed into a small space prior to it being loaded onto a mobile.

Users will notice a significant difference not just in surfing speeds whilst using their mobile, but also in their monthly phone bill, as the compression means that customers will attract much lower costs on their data usage.
