BlackBerry Continues to Storm Market

BlackBerry Continues to Storm Market As well as a new BlackBerry OS 6 model announced to follow the new BlackBerry Torch, O2 has confirmed that it will be stocking three more Research in Motion (RIM) devices in the coming months.

The BlackBerry Curve 3G is the latest addition to RIM's popular Curve range. A smartphone with in-built GPS, BlackBerry Messenger and the standard Wi-Fi capability, the Curve 3G offers HSDPA enhanced with internet browsing at speeds exceeding most mobiles.

The operating system remains equipped with BlackBerry 5, but RIM has assured consumers that OS 6 will be compatible with the Curve 3G.

A previous model of the Curve will be featured alongside the BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Pearl 3G on O2's newest pay-as-you-go deals. Three of five potential pay-as-you-go models, the latter is one of RIM's newest devices, while the Bold and the Curve 8520 have been around for quite some time on contract options. On each deal, for a nominal fee, users will receive 500 free texts and 500MB of monthly data.

However, for one £30 top-up per month, the number of available free texts will become unlimited, marking O2's similarities with the contract deals. The popular BlackBerry Messenger will be included on all phones, as is the norm with RIM products.

Jonathan Earle, head of consumer marketing at O2 UK said, "O2's new Pay & Go tariffs for BlackBerry smartphones will bring all the benefits of BlackBerry to even more of our customers. With BBM being used more and more across the world, now anyone can share their PIN and get chatting."
