BlackBerry App Xobni Launched to Improve Mail Search

BlackBerry App Xobni Launched to Improve Mail Search The slightly unusually named Xobni application is a new mail search and contact sync tool designed as an Outlook plug-in. Available from the BlackBerry App World, Xobni allows users to use and integrate information with social networking sites Facebook and LinkedIn.

The app works by indexing the whole inbox and accumulating any communication you have had with any of your contacts. This then allows you to contact anyone you have sent an email to, even though you may not have saved their information. Xobni can also search out a contact through the details you have used, even if you cannot remember their name.

According to the report on the Mobile Choice website, the app also has the ability to rank search results by relevance. So you can check which person you contact the most via text, email or calling.

Xobni Mobile syncs with Outlook which is available in Free and Plus versions. When both systems are installed, you can see on your computer the communication details of every contact, including any links or text messages or attachments that you have sent them. The app allows you to check every piece of communication history with anyone you have contacted.

As for the rather odd sounding name, Xobni, it may appear strange but if you run it backwards, it reads Inbox. The app is now available for BlackBerry and the word is that more operating systems will be getting the app in the near future.
