Apple Faithful Queue for Hours for New iPhone

Apple Faithful Queue for Hours for New iPhone Last week Apple introduced its latest iPhone model, the iPhone 3G S at the World Wide Developer Conference. Today, Friday 19 June, dedicated Apple customers started to form long queues in the anticipation to purchase Apple’s most powerful phone yet.

Across the globe, Apple stores opened early to give customers the first look at the iPhone 3G S. At Apple’s Fifth Avenue store in New York queues for the new iPhone already began to form on Thursday afternoon, whilst in the UK, queues were already winding around street corners at 7 am this morning.

The 3G S was hotly anticipated in Japan. In Tokyo’s Omotesando shopping district, over 200 customers waited patiently for their first chance to seize the Apple "must-have" device. With no pre-ordering service in Japan, only a lucky few will get their hands on the new phone today.

For those who already own iPhones, there is also a facility to download the 3.0 update to the iPhone OS software to take advantage of some new features which may be very useful.

The new handset looks exactly the same as its predecessor the iPhone 3G but its capabilities are much faster. Indeed as Apple points out “the S stands for speed” which is doubled for sending messages. The new model opens attachments 3.6 times faster too and loads games 2.4 times faster. It has an enhanced camera increased from 2 to 3 megapixels, voice control and a built in digital compass application.

Several publications have reviewed the new model and have nothing but praise for its speed and additional features.
