Android Driven T-Mobile Pulse Available on PAYG

Android Driven T-Mobile Pulse Available on PAYG The T-Mobile Pulse, the first Android-based smartphone, is soon to go on sale on a pay as you go (PAYG) basis, which is a big breakthrough for Android phones. Until now they have been only available on a contract basis.

Now however, smartphones in general are becoming ever more accessible to the mass market and PAYG is the latest development. T-Mobile said that the new move is to bring Android to “a wider set of mobile users”.

The T-Mobile Pulse is manufactured by Huawei and is exclusive to T-Mobile. It can be purchased for £179.99, but is also available free when mobile phone customers take out a contract at a cost of just £20 per month.

The Pulse, just like all other Android phones, is equipped with pre-installed Google applications. These include Gmail, GoogleMaps and YouTube. Users also have the facility to download hundreds of applications from the Android Market.

There are many other attractive features of the Pulse which include Wi-Fi as well as HSDPA for web access and fast downloads, GPS support and a megapixel camera with autofocus.

T-Mobile said that users can also transfer data stored on Micro SD memory cards on to devices such as Bluetooth.

The Pulse has a 3.5-inch touchscreen which can also be accessed by the phone’s physical tracker ball. It also comes with a powerful 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor. This gives users simultaneous use of multiple applications with minimum lag.

The huge bestselling G1 phone was first embraced by T-Mobile and was since followed by the equally successful G2 Touch.
