A New Android Phone from T-Mobile
T-Mobile has announced its second Android phone, to be known as the G1Touch.
The announcement of the new phone design was released by T-Mobile from their Twitter account, setting online followers all of a flutter.
The official tweet from the company read: “Very excited! T-Mobile’s highly anticipated 2nd Android phone has been named the T-Mobile G1Touch – more soon!”
So far, T-Mobile have been keeping cards close to their chest, not revealing any pertinent details such as features, price or release date. The mere announcement of the second Android phone was enough to arouse the online community in a buzz of speculation however, as the phone is likely to challenge the recently released iPhone 3G S.
If the demand for G1Touch reaches anything approaching the near fever pitch experienced today for Apple’s new iPhone then T-Mobile will be extremely pleased with themselves.
At the same time yesterday, The Wall Street Journal announced another T-Mobile Android phone due for release in the States, which is believed will be named the myTouch 3G. The US announcement is not linked to the G1Touch, in fact, the myTouch 3G is the same as the HTC Magic which has been on release in the UK for a while now.
The myTouch 3G will be in competition with Palm’s smartphone the Pre and the soon to be released BlackBerry Tour which will be available on the US market from July 2009.
